Met office predicts rain across country

DHAKA, June 17, 2023 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind at most places across the country in the next 24 hours commencing from 9am.

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country," said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.

Day and night temperatures may fall slightly across the country, it added.

Country's highest temperature on Monday was recorded at 36.1 degrees Celsius in Ishurdi under Rajshahi division, while the minimum temperature today was 24 degrees Celsius in Sitakunda under Chattogram division.

The sun sets at 6:48 pm today and rises at 5:11 am tomorrow in the capital.
