DHAKA, Nov 8, 2025 (BSS) - Newly appointed Thai Ambassador to Bangladesh Thitiporn Chirasawadi has reaffirmed her commitment to promoting economic cooperation that delivers tangible benefits for both nations while fostering stronger people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding.

In a message issued upon assuming office in Dhaka, Ambassador Chirasawadi expressed deep admiration for Bangladesh's dynamic growth and national identity, describing the country as "an emerging economy with a proud history, vibrant culture, and resilient spirit."

She said Bangladesh holds growing strategic importance for Thailand, citing strong economic potential and cultural affinity between the two South and Southeast Asian neighbours.

"Our countries share a vital geographical link through the Bay of Bengal, serving as gateways to wider regional connectivity," she noted.

Highlighting bilateral progress, the envoy said Bangladesh has become one of Thailand's key partners in South Asia, with trade expanding steadily in recent years.

She added that both nations share "deep values rooted in community, hospitality, and resilience," which provide a strong foundation for deepening mutual understanding.

As both countries are active members of BIMSTEC, the Ambassador emphasized Thailand's commitment to advancing connectivity, economic integration, and sustainable development under Bangladesh's upcoming chairmanship from 2025 to 2027.

Ambassador Chirasawadi, who previously served in the region from 2000 to 2001, said she feels honoured to return to South Asia, a region she described as culturally rich and warm-hearted.

She reiterated her resolve to further strengthen the friendship, goodwill, and cooperation between Thailand and Bangladesh in the years ahead.
