DHAKA, Nov 09, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on Md Asad, managing director (MD) of real estate firm Alampana Builders Limited, over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft body, in its plea, said it has already filed three cases against the accused for disbursing and subsequently embezzling money of a state-owned bank. During the investigation, multiple notices have been served, asking him to appear, but Asad refrained from appearing before the ACC or submitting any documents in this connection.

"It was learned in the probe that the accused is planning to flee the country to evade justice and a travel ban should be imposed on him for the sake of proper investigation," the plea added.
