RANGPUR, Dec 4, 2025 (BSS) - The common people of Rangpur from all walks of life firmly believe that Almighty Allah will surely hear their prayers and grant a speedy recovery to former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
While talking to BSS at various places in Rangpur city today, students, teachers, youth, auto-rickshaw drivers, shopkeepers, daily wage workers, housewives, fishermen, blacksmiths and people of other professions expressed deep respect for Begum Zia and wished her a speedy recovery.
Hafizur Rahman, a vegetable seller at Rangpur City Market, said, "Begum Khaleda Zia is an uncompromising leader and a true patriot, and she has done a lot for the welfare and development of Bangladesh during her three-term tenure as Prime Minister."
"Indeed, the nation is now going through a very critical period amidst conspiracies at home and abroad, and the leadership of a true nationalist leader like Begum Khaleda Zia is sorely needed to overcome this situation," said Rahman.
As a religious person, Hafizur Rahman said that he has full faith in Allah that He will hear the prayers of people from all walks of life and grant Begum Khaleda Zia a long life with good health, happiness and peace.
Calling Begum Khaleda Zia a true nationalist leader, Professor of the Department of Bangla at Begum Rokeya University, Dr Tuhin Wadud said, “This is an unprecedented incident in our divided society where everyone is praying for her speedy recovery.”
“Like everyone else, I am hopeful that former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia will recover soon and continue to serve the nation in rebuilding the country and its institutions in this critical time after the fall of the previous fascist regime,” he said.
Alhaj Isahaque Ali, a teacher at Kathihara Ekramia Dakhil Madrasa in Rangpur Sadar Upazila, said that the ousted fascist regime tried its best to harm former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and imprisoned her out of enmity.
“But Allah Almighty is the best Judge. Fascist Hasina had to leave the country to avoid people’s wrath when thousands of people are praying for speedy recovery of innocent Begum Khaleda Zia. Begum Khaleda Zia will recover soon, Insha’Allah,” he said.
College student Muhaimenul Islam said that Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia are the most respected patriots in Bangladesh. They have served the nation with utmost sincerity, honesty and patriotism.
“Therefore, we pray for her speedy recovery. She will recover by the mercy of Allah very soon, Insha’Allah,” Islam said.
Auto-rickshaw driver Mahbub Hossain said that Bangladesh's enemies at home and abroad do not want BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to be alive.
"Our enemies killed our most popular and honest President Ziaur Rahman and tried to do the same to Begum Khaleda Zia, and may do the same to Tarique Rahman. But, Allah will protect them. Begum Zia will recover soon, Insha’Allah," he said.
Grocery shop proprietor Mizanur Rahman at Rangpur City Market said Allah Almighty has made the nation victorious through the July student-public Mass Uprising.
“To rebuild the nation, the leadership of a three-time elected Prime Minister and uncompromising nationalist leader is much needed now. So, Allah Almighty will grant complete recovery to Begum Khaleda Zia soon, Insha’Allah,” he said.
Farm-laborer Taslim Uddin and Mason Abu Bakkar said the nation still needs the leadership of the most popular former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. We pray for her speedy recovery, long life and sound health,” he said.
Youth Aminur Rahman said he prays to Allah for the speedy recovery of Begum Khaleda Zia so that she can serve the nation to consolidate our freedom and sovereignty, which is now at risk due to the ousted fascist regime.
Housewife Fatema Khatun said she wants to see the country rebuilt and developed for the next generation in a fascism-free Bangladesh under the leadership of uncompromising nationalist leader BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
“Like everyone else, I wish him a speedy recovery,” said Fatema.
Fishermen Dulu Mia, Abdul Jalil and Golam Mostafa of Gangachara upazila said that they have full confidence in Allah Who will grant full recovery to Begum Khaleda Zia for building a prosperous Bangladesh under her leadership.
