MIST hosts 'Freshers Day-2025' for its newly-admitted students

DHAKA, June 17, 2025 (BSS)- The Military Institute of Science and Technology 
(MIST) hosted a Freshers' Reception for the students of academic session 
2025-26 on Monday at its Shaheed Yamin Auditorium today.

MIST officially welcomed 860 newly-admitted students, including 173 military 
students of 11Bsc Engineering and Architecture Department, to the institute, 
said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release. 

The programme began with the National Anthem, followed by a detailed briefing 
on the academic and administrative affairs of MIST through a presentation and 
visual showcase. 

Two current students shared their enriching experiences and insights of their 
student life. In addition, a few interested students from the new batch 
expressed their excitement and aspirations while several parents shared their 
satisfaction with MIST's disciplined and supportive academic environment, it 
read.
 
The event was graced by Commandant of MIST Maj Gen Md Nasim Parvez. In his 
remarks, he congratulated the freshers on their admission and encouraged them 
to embrace discipline, innovation and learning. 

The Commandant emphasized the importance of active participation in co-
curricular activities such as robotics, cultural and literary pursuits, 
cyber-security, debate, and aeronautics to foster leadership and all-round 
development, the release added. 

The ceremony was attended by Deans, department heads, faculty members, staff, 
parents and the newly-admitted students-- collectively reflecting the 
spirited beginning of a new academic year at the MIST.
