BRUR VC calls for involving students in research work

RANGPUR, June 18, 2025 (BSS) - Vice-chancellor (VC) of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali has urged university teachers to involve students in knowledge-based research and creative work. 
 
"Students at Begum Rokeya University are very keen to engage in innovative work and teachers should pave the way for their participation in research activities," he said. 
 
The Vice-chancellor made the observation while addressing a workshop titled "Proposal Writing for National and International Grants" held at the virtual classroom of Academic Building-2 of the university on Wednesday as the chief guest.
 
The university's Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organised the workshop with its Director Prof Dr Md Tajul Islam in the chair.
 
Teachers from different Departments of the university participated in the workshop.
 
Prof Ali said funding is very necessary for conducting research activities. The importance of better research proposals is immense for various domestic and foreign institutions and organisations to collect research funds. 
 
"The ideas and knowledge gained from the discussions on writing proposals for research in the workshop will further enrich the researchers," he hoped. 
 
Prof of Environmental Science Discipline of Khulna University (KU) Dr Md Abdullah Yusuf Al Harun presented the keynote paper on the research proposal. 
 
IQAC Additional Directors Dr Md Abdul Latif and Dr Md Abdur Rakib were present at the workshop.
