3-day national fruits fair begin in city tomorrow

DHAKA, June 18, 2025 (BSS) – A three-day National Fruit Fair-2025 is set to begin tomorrow at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) premises in the city’s Khamarbari area.

Agriculture Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury will inaugurate the fair tomorrow (Thursday) morning, said a press release here. 

The theme of this year’s National Fruit Fair, which will continue till June 21, is- "Eat more local fruits, let's plant fruits bearing trees".

The fair will remain open for the public every day from 10am to 8:00pm. Visitors will be able to learn about different fruits farming technologies and buy different varieties of chemical-free fruits.

The Ministry of Agriculture said 26 government and 49 private organizations will participate in this year's fruit fair. A total of 75 stalls will display various types of fruits and fruits cultivation technologies.

A seminar, titled “Local Fruits in Health, Nutrition and Commercialization: Current Perspective, Challenges and Prospects”, will be held at the KIB auditorium.

The Agriculture Adviser will be the chief guest at the seminar with Agriculture Secretary Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian in the chair.

On the closing day (Saturday afternoon) awards will be given to the best stall at the fair premises.
