DHAKA, June 18, 2025 (BSS) – Gas supply to the national grid has suffered a setback due to hurdle of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) cargo berthing to Floating Storage Re-gasification Unit (FSRU) at Moheshkhali as inclement weather is being experienced in the sea.

“LNG supply to the national grid has been severely affected as LNG cargo berthing at the deep-sea FSRU at Maheshkhali was not possible yesterday (Tuesday) and today (Wednesday) due to adverse weather conditions,” according to a Petrobangla statement today.

Petrobangla said that there was low gas pressure in the areas under Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited and Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd due to reduction in supply of LNG to the national gas grid.

It said LNG cargo berthing will begin as soon as the weather becomes normal.

Petrobangla sought sincerely apologize for the temporary inconvenience to the people.
