World Day Against Child Labor to be observed tomorrow in Bangladesh

DHAKA, June 18, 2025 (BSS) - The World Day Against Child Labor will be 
observed tomorrow in Bangladesh as the usual date of the day-June 12 was a 
public holiday.

The theme of this year's day is "Riding on the wings of dreams, breaking the 
shackles of child labor- moving forward with strong steps, lighting the fire 
of hope in our hearts".

Labour and Employment Adviser Brigadier General (R.) Dr. M Sakhawat Hussain 
announced the programmes of the day at a press briefing at the meeting room 
of the ministry here today.

He said the government is committed to eliminating all forms of child labor, 
including hazardous ones, by 2025. 

The government has already taken various policy and institutional measures, 
including ratifying ILO Conventions 138 and 182 and formulating the National 
Action Plan 2021-2025 to eliminate child labour.
