DHAKA, June 21, 2025 (BSS) - Water levels at 78 river stations monitored by 
Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 40 
stations recorded fall.

Among the 116 monitored river stations, water levels at one station has 
remained steady while water levels at all rivers are flowing below the danger 
level, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today.

The bulletin said the water levels of the Muhuri, Gomti, and Feni rivers in Chattogram Division are rising. Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in this basin over the next one day, followed by moderate rainfall over the subsequent two days. The water levels of these rivers may remain stable for the next one day and begin to fall over the following two days.

The water level of the Someshwari River in Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions is rising; on the other hand, the water levels of the Sarigowain, Jadukata, and Bhugai-Kangsha rivers are falling, and all are flowing below the danger level.

Moderate-heavy to heavy rainfall is expected in this basin over the next three days. The water levels of these rivers may rise over the next three days, and the Sarigowain River in Sylhet district, the Jadukata River in Sunamganj district, and the Someshwari River in Netrokona district may flow near the warning level within the next 48 hours.

The water level of the Teesta River is rising and this trend may continue over the next three days, although it is expected to remain below the danger level. Moderate-heavy to heavy rainfall is expected in this basin during this period.

The water level of the Surma River remains stable while the water level of the Kushiyara River is falling. The water level of the Surma may remain stable for the next three days, while the Kushiyara may continue to fall over the same period; both are expected to flow below the danger level.

The water level of the Brahmaputra River is rising, while the Jamuna River remains stable. The water levels of the Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers may continue to rise over the next five days, though they are expected to remain below the danger level.

The water level of the Ganges River is rising and the Padma River remains stable. The water levels of both rivers may continue to rise over the next five days; however, they are expected to flow below the danger level.
