DMP files 2,580 cases to reinforce traffic discipline in past 2 days

DHAKA, Nov 8, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has intensified its traffic enforcement drive, filing a total of 2,580 cases against traffic law violators across various parts of the capital over the past two days.

According to DMP traffic press release, the highest number of cases — 567 were recorded in the Traffic-Motijheel division, followed by 401 in Mirpur and 399 in Uttara. 


Other divisions also saw significant action, including 334 cases in Tejgaon, 272 in Gulshan, 267 in Lalbagh, 238 in Wari, and 142 in Ramna.


The cases involved different modes of vehicles, including buses, trucks, covered vans, CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and motorcycles. 


In total, 676 vehicles were dumped and 176 were wrecked during the two-day operation.


Officials said the ongoing drive aims to restore and maintain order on Dhaka’s congested roads. 

The DMP has pledged that the crackdown on traffic law violations will continue to ensure discipline and safety in the city’s transport system.
