DHAKA, June 22, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has launched an initiative to update its citizen database by collecting information on new tenants and house owners across all 50 police stations under its jurisdiction, aiming to build a safer and more secure society.
"We're updating the information of new tenants and house owners of all 50 police stations under the DMP. It is an ongoing process. We're doing it mainly to build a safe and secure society," DMP spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman told BSS today.
As part of updating the database, the Wari Division of DMP has initiated 'Citizen Information Collection Week 2025' from June 21 to 27 with the theme: "The Days of Hiding Are Over - a Drug, Terrorism and Militancy-Free Bangladesh."
During this period, information on new landlords and tenants will be collected. In addition, the information of those who have previously submitted their details but have since changed addresses will also be updated.
As part of this initiative, information on citizens' family members - such as wives, children, domestic workers, and drivers - will also be collected.
By collecting this information, an accurate, reliable, and complete database will be created, which will play an important role in maintaining law and order.
To make Citizen Information Collection Week 2025 a success, the Wari Division has called on all citizens to come forward and provide their information.
