Japanese envoy highlights Tokyo’s security strategy at NDC

DHAKA, July 20, 2025 (BSS) – Chargé d'affaires ad interim of Japan to Bangladesh TAKAHASHI Naoki today delivered a lecture on “Contemporary Japan: Its Foreign Policy, Security and Development Strategy and Japan-Bangladesh Relations” at the National Defence College (NDC) in Dhaka.

In his lecture, the envoy presented Japan’s security strategy and diplomatic priorities, including its vision for a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP),” aimed at ensuring stability, security, and prosperity in the region.

He also elaborated the Japan-Bangladesh relations under the Strategic Partnership framework, highlighting the areas of cooperation and shared commitment to regional peace and development.

A total of 97 course members, including participants from 18 countries, attended the lecture and engaged in discussions on the bilateral relations between Japan and Bangladesh as well as contemporary international issues.
