RAB arrests Dinjapur's fugitive convict from Ashulia

RANGPUR, Nov 7, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested a fugitive convict from Dinajpur district, serving a four-year sentence, from Palashbari area under Ashulia police station of Dhaka on Thursday night.
 
The arrested convict was Md Kabirul, 42, son of late Rahimuddin of village Kazipara, under Ghoraghat police station of Dinajpur district, a press release said this afternoon.
 
Earlier, a Dinajpur court sentenced Kabirul to four years in prison in a case filed at Ghoraghat Police Station in Dinajpur under Section 25-B (2) of the Special Powers Act on April 4, 2021. 
 
The accused has been absconding since the verdict was announced.
 
On a tip of, , a joint team of RAB-13's Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-1 from Dinajpur Camp and RAB-4's CPC-2 from Savar Camp arrested the fugitive convict from Palashbari area under Ashulia police station of Dhaka at 7:25 pm on Thursday.
 
The accused has been handed over to the Ghoraghat police station of Dinajpur district for further legal action.
