DHAKA, July 23, 2025 (BSS) - Pakistan Home Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi today met Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan at his office at Secretariat here.
At the beginning of the meeting, Asif welcomed the Pakistani Home Minister, said a press release.
He said that about 63 percent of Bangladesh's citizens are between the ages of 18 and 35. Various training programmes are being conducted through the Department of Youth Development to provide employment to this large youth community.
Asif, also Adviser to the LGRD and Co-operative Ministry, said artificial Intelligence-based training programme modules are being undertaken to create youth entrepreneurs.
The adviser said there are many opportunities for cooperation between Bangladesh and Pakistan in the field of sports. Ideas can be shared between the two countries regarding the games of cricket, hockey, and kabaddi.
Noting that Pakistan is far ahead in solar power generation, the adviser said that the Local Government Department is working on a rooftop solar policy for using solar power in its nearly 5,600 institutions. Experiences can be exchanged between the two countries in this regard, he added.
The adviser informed the Home Minister that a delegation will soon visit Pakistan to inspect the single database system for birth and death registration at the invitation of Pakistan.
Mohsin Raza Naqvi expressed deep grief and condolences on behalf of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the loss of lives in the training jet crash into a building of Milestone School and College in Uttara.
The Pakistani minister invited the Sports Adviser to visit Pakistan and said, "We are interested in taking forward the youth development programmes between the two countries. We want to work together for the development of hockey, kabaddi and cricket. A memorandum of understanding will be signed between the two countries for the development of these three sports very soon,"
Youth and Sports Secretary Md Mahbub-ul-Alam, Local Government Division Secretary Md Rezaul Maksud Jahedi, Pakistan Embassy Dhaka Charg‚ d'affaires Muhammad Wasif, Counsilor Kamran Dhanggal, and senior officials of the ministry were present at the event.
