DHAKA, July 24, 2025 (BSS) - One more critically burn injured in the air force jet crash at the Milestone School and College in the capital's Uttara area was admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS).

Fourteen years old Mahtab was referred to the NIBPS from Uttara Adhunik Hospital Medical College Hospital on Wednesday night.

He is now undergoing treatment at bed no 7 of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of NIBPS with 85 percent burn injuries. 

His condition was very critical, according to a brief message sent to the media this morning. 

With the new one, so far 45 people, nine with critical burn injuries are now undergoing treatment at the burn institute. 
 
Director of NIBPS Professor Dr. Mohammad Nasir Uddin in press briefing at the institute on Wednesday afternoon said that so far 44 injured in the jet crash are undergoing treatment at the institute. 

Of them, eight have been classified in the critical category, 13 in CBR (Complete Bed Rest), and 23 in the intermediate category, he said.
 
"The condition of these patients changes every hour. For this, we will hold meetings every 12 hours. Their treatment will continue according to that decision," he said.

The institute has been giving treatment to the burn injured in consultation with the medical team from Singapore General Hospital that arrived in capital on Wednesday, Nasir Uddin said. 

The team will monitor these patients for a few more days, he added. 

"Each case has been reviewed separately with the Singaporean experts. They have also made important decisions," he said.

Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) Directorate Director Lieutenant Colonel Sami Ud Dowla Chowdhury has said rumours were spreading on social media about the death toll in Monday's Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crash on a building of Milestone School and College at Uttara here.

"Many people believe the rumours without understanding," he said in a text to media on Wednesday.

According to the updated information till 10:30am today provided by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) the death toll in the aircraft stand at 29 while 57 injured are undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the capital. 

A total of 22 bodies were handed over to their families after identification.

The bodies of six persons have been kept at the morgues of Combined Military Hospital, while body of one person is at the morgue of Lubana General Hospital and Cardiac Centre, said a handout of the PID on Wednesday. 

DNA sample testing is underway to hand over the bodies to their families.
