MYMENSINGH, Sept 5, 2025 (BSS) - The student organization 'Hopes of Humanity Center' from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) held a tree plantation program in the Kewatkhali area of Mymensingh today.

A total of 1,000 Rupali tree saplings were distributed - 800 on September 5 and 200 the day before - among teachers, students, and local residents.
S M Sajjad Ul Islam, Managing Director of the organization and a BAU student, said, "Tree plantation benefits both the environment and humanity. We aim to build a greener, more sustainable Bangladesh."

The head teacher of Premier Ideal School, where the initiative began, said, "Placing a tree in students' hands means placing the future in their hands. We're proud this effort started at our school."

Community leaders praised the initiative, noting that the saplings will offer lasting benefits and serve as a symbol of collective action.

Organizers announced plans to expand the program, with 2,000 more saplings to be distributed in Khulna and Bagerhat districts.
