Health officials report four deaths, 942 fresh cases of dengue inflection overnight

DHAKA, Oct 20, 2025 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 942 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least four persons in the past 24 hours.
 
“During the period, (of the 942) 139 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 114 in Chattogram division, 203 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 99 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 211 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 55 in Khulna division, 33 in Mymensingh division, 63 in Rajshahi division, 23 in Rangpur division and two in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
 
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 249 deaths while the disease inflicted 60,791.
 
The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
