Health officials report four deaths, 814 fresh cases of dengue inflection overnight

DHAKA, Oct 21, 2025 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 814 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least four persons in the past 24 hours.

"During the period, (of the 841) 126 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 114 in Chattogram division, 124 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 107 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 170 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 41 in Khulna division, 46 in Mymensingh division, 40 in Rajshahi division, 41 in Rangpur division and five in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 253 deaths while the disease inflicted 61,605.

The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
