Govt instructs to beef up security at land offices across country

DHAKA, Oct 23, 2025 (BSS) – The government has instructed all deputy commissioners (DCs) to beef up security at land offices across the country.

In this regard, a letter signed by Deputy Secretary (Field Administration) of the Land Ministry Nusrat Jahan Nishu has already been sent to all deputy commissioners, official sources said here today.

The ministry has observed that frequent incidents of fire are occurring in different parts of the country. Therefore, instructions have been given to the DCs to install closed-circuit cameras in the record rooms of the deputy commissioners’ offices.

Besides, the ministry has also instructed authorities to strengthen security measures at upazila land offices, revenue circle offices, and union land offices to prevent such incidents.
