468 more hospitalized with dengue in 24 hrs

DHAKA, Oct 24, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 468 new dengue patients were hospitalized across the country in the past 24 hours, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today.

Of them, 73 were admitted to hospitals in Barishal division(outside City Corporation), 87 in Chattogram division (outside City Corporation), 104 in Dhaka division (outside City Corporation), 111 under Dhaka North City Corporation, 47 under Dhaka South City Corporation, 13 in Khulna division (outside City Corporation) and 33 in Mymensingh division (outside City Corporation), the release added.

During the same period, 474 dengue patients were released from hospitals after recovery. With this, the total number of recovered patients this year has reached 60,737.

According to DGHS data, a total of 63,638 dengue patients have been hospitalized across the country since January, while 259 people have died from the mosquito-borne disease so far this year.

In 2024, Bangladesh reported 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths, the DGHS said.
