NLASO provides free legal aid to over 13 lakh people since 2009

DHAKA, Oct 25, 2025 (BSS) - The National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO) has emerged as a vital support system for financially insolvent citizens, offering free legal services to more than 13.30 lakh people across Bangladesh since its inception in 2009.

According to official data from NLASO's website, a total of 13,30,643 underprivileged individuals have received government-funded legal assistance in 4,43,079 cases up to September 2025.

Of them, 29,791 litigants were supported through the Supreme Court Legal Aid Service, while 10,52,686 people received help via district legal aid offices operating in all 64 districts.

In addition, the Chattogram Legal Aid Services extended support to 29,673 labourers, while NLASO's toll-free helpline (16430) provided information and assistance to 19,10,493 callers.

These services are provided under the supervision of the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry, which continues to ensure that access to justice, is not denied due to financial constraints.
