DHAKA, Oct 27, 2025 (BSS) - Director General (DG) of Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) Brigadier General Muhammad Jahed Kamal has stressed the need for continuing the public awareness campaign aimed at reducing fire incidents during the dry season.

"Continue the public awareness campaign to lessen the incidents of fire during the dry season," he said while addressing a durbar programme held at the FSCD Headquarters in the capital this morning.

Kamal has called upon officers and employees of the FSCD to put the organization's interests above everything else.

Highlighting the humanitarian efforts of the FSCD personnel in any disaster, he said ten members who served during the Myanmar earthquake received the Swarak Medal from the Myanmar government.

The DG also presented "Director General's Appreciation" awards - the first of its kind - to officers excelling in operations, competitions, and administrative performance, including certificates, and cash rewards.
