Singapore, Oct 2025 (BSS) - Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth, and Manpower of Singapore Dinesh Vasu Dash has lauded the Singapore Bangladesh Society (SBS) for its longstanding role in fostering friendship and mutual understanding between the people of Bangladesh and Singapore.

Speaking as the guest of honour at the SBS SG60 Dinner 2025, held on Sunday at the Chevrons Ballroom to commemorate Singapore's 60th National Day, Dinesh commended the SBS' contributions over the past four decades, said a press release here today.

"For more than four decades, the SBS has served as a vital bridge for strengthening relations between Bangladeshi and Singaporean communities, fostering mutual understanding and friendship," he said.

The event was attended by Ferdousi Shahriar, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Singapore, among other dignitaries. Mrs. Dinesh Vasu Dash also accompanied the Minister at the celebration.

More than 450 guests from both communities joined the gala evening, which featured vibrant cultural performances, stalls showcasing Bangladeshi handicrafts and the presentation of Community Recognition Awards.

The occasion also marked the official launch of Rongdhonu (The Rainbow), the Society's flagship publication celebrating cultural diversity and social harmony.

Reflecting on the society's journey, SBS President said, "By participating in this historic milestone, SBS reaffirms its enduring commitment to integration with the wider community, fostering friendship and solidarity across cultures."

Founded in 1981, the Singapore Bangladesh Society has played a pioneering role in promoting cultural exchange, community welfare and bilateral goodwill between the two nations for over forty years.
