Four dengue patients die, 1,041 fresh cases detected overnight

DHAKA, Oct 28, 2025 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 1,041 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least four persons in the past 24 hours.

"During the period, (of the 1,041) 174 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 120 in Chattogram division, 206 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 140 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 230 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 49 in Khulna division, 49 in Mymensingh division, 45 in Rajshahi division, 19 in Rangpur division and nine in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 273 deaths while the disease inflicted 67,464.

The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
