DHAKA, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS) – Education Adviser Professor Dr CR Abrar has said that all teachers of MPO-listed educational institutions who are engaged in activities outside classroom teaching will be brought under accountability.

“There are many teachers who are involved in other work besides taking classes . . . they will be brought under accountability,” he told BSS in an interview.

Professor CR Abrar said, “There are several obligations within the law, it is not that the government has implemented them very vigorously. However, this time we will ensure the responsibility within the law.”

He said that the reasons for the poor results in all educational institutions, meaning zero or less than 10 percent pass percentage, will be investigated.
Simultaneously, the heads of all institutions that have continued the previous results will be called, he added.

The education adviser said, “If government institutions can also be brought under accountability, then of course their results can be improved. We have found a good example of that.”

He said the government has also taken into consideration the issue of preventing wastage in institutions where only 10 to 12 students sit for exams out of 150 to 160 enrolled students, while 15 to 20 teachers still have to be paid.
