CHATTOGRAM, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS) – ASM Saleh Ahmed, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land, emphasized the importance of embracing technology for the country’s development and progress, highlighting the challenges posed by the rapid pace of technological change in today’s world.

“Adapting to this rapid change poses a significant challenge. Engineers and technologists play a crucial role in addressing this challenge,” he said.

He made these remarks while addressing a discussion held on the 23rd University Day at the Central Auditorium of CUET today.

The Senior Secretary stressed the need to serve the country as skilled, honest, professional, patriotic, and compassionate individuals.

The day-long programme began with the symbolic release of balloons and pigeons by the university authorities.

To mark the day, a rally participated in by teachers, officials, employees, and students were brought out on the campus.

CUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan and Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Saleh Hasan Naqib attended the function as guests of honour.

CUET Director of Student Welfare Professor Dr. Md. Mahbubul Alam presided over the function, while Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram Dr. Md. Ziauddin, Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor Dr. Kazi Delwar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Urban and Environmental Engineering Professor Dr. Asiful Haque, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Professor Dr. A.H. Rashedul Hossain, and Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Professor Dr. Kazi Afzalur Rahman, among others, spoke on the occasion.
