Commonwealth delegation meets IGP

DHAKA, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS) - A five-member delegation from the Commonwealth Electoral Support Section (ESS) met with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam at the Police Headquarters today. 

The delegation was led by Adviser of the Commonwealth Electoral Support Section, Linford Andrews, said a police press release. 

The head of the delegation discussed various issues related to the preparation of Bangladesh Police for the upcoming national parliamentary elections, the security of foreign observers during the elections and the overall law and order management.

Welcoming the delegation, the IGP said that police are working with the highest priority on the upcoming elections and has arranged for training for about 150,000 police personnel who will be responsible for the elections.

“All preparations by the police have already been completed to make the elections free, fair and acceptable,” he also said. 

He assured that police will take all necessary measures to ensure the security of foreign observers.

Senior officials of the Bangladesh Police and other members of the delegation were present at the time.
