DHAKA, Nov 2, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today alleged that an attempt is underway to create anarchy in the country by spreading false propaganda on social media.

He said, "The enemies of Bangladesh are rearing their heads again and starting to rise up. As time passes, a malicious attempt is being made to create an anarchic situation in the country. Unfortunately, we are seeing that a process to create anarchy is underway even through the dissemination of false propaganda on social media."

Fakhrul made the remarks while speaking to journalists after a joint meeting of the BNP and its affiliated organisations, held on the occasion of the historic November 7 National Revolution and Solidarity Day at the party's central office in Naya Paltan.

Mirza Fakhrul presided over the meeting.

Recalling the various contributions of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman to nation-building, Fakhrul said, "Ziaur Rahman first turned his attention to political reform. He restored the multiparty democratic system from one-party rule, ensured press freedom, guaranteed the independence of the judiciary, and established the Supreme Judicial Council."

He described Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman as a rare statesman who initiated massive economic changes and gave momentum to the economy. "The foundation of our garments industry was laid by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. He played a leading role in women's education and empowerment and brought an unprecedented change in the field of education. A revolution in agriculture was ushered in through the import of high-yield varieties and making fertilizer management accessible to farmers," Fakhrul added.

Referring to the contributions of Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman, the senior BNP leader said, "Just as Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman united the nation, today Tarique Rahman is similarly working to unite the country and the nation. And just as Begum Khaleda Zia guided us in the anti-fascist movement, today our young leader Tarique Rahman is also leading the party and inspiring the nation with new hope."

Stating that the BNP can never be defeated, Fakhrul said, "The philosophy of Bangladeshi Nationalism that Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman left behind can never be defeated. This is why the BNP has never been defeated, rising from the ashes like a phoenix."

On the occasion of the historic 7th November National Revolution and Solidarity Day, the BNP Secretary General announced a 10-day programme scheduled from November 5 to 13.

As part of the programme, the party flag will be hoisted at the BNP central office in Naya Paltan and all party offices across the country at 6am on November 7.

Leaders and activists from all levels of the party will place floral wreaths and offer Fateha at the grave of the Proclaimer of Independence and former Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman at 10am on the same day.

A rally will be organized by the Dhaka Mohanagar North and South BNP in front of the party's central office in Naya Paltan at 3pm on November 7. Similar rallies will also be held at the district and upazila levels across the country.

Affiliated organizations of the party will hold discussion meetings and other programmes on their own initiative. Sramik Dal will hold a discussion on November 5, while Chhatra Dal will organize a discussion on the same day and a photo exhibition at TSC on November 7-8.

Olama Dal will distribute educational materials among orphaned students on November 9. Tati Dal will arrange a discussion on November 10, while Krishak Dal will hold another on November 11. JASAS will organize a cultural programme at the Shaheed Minar in the evening on the same day.

A discussion meeting organized by the BNP will be held at the China-Bangladesh Friendship Conference Centre on November 12.

In addition, documentaries (video and still photos) will be published in electronic and print media, as well as on Facebook, YouTube, and other online platforms, between November 6 and 13.

Posters and special supplements will also be published to mark the 7th November National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
