IGP for performing election duty sincerely

RAJSHAHI, Nov 2, 2025 (BSS) - Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) 
Baharul Alam has asked his subordinate colleagues to discharge their duties 
with utmost sincerity and honesty to make the upcoming national election 
peaceful and successful.

"National elections are very important for the state, where the police role 
is very significant. Every police personnel in the field during the election 
will be the symbol of peoples' confidence," he said.

IGP Baharul Alam made the observation while inspecting the sixth batch 
competence and capacity building training for policemen who will perform 
election duty.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) arranged the 3-day training workshop ahead 
of the upcoming national election at its POM conference hall here today. The 
workshop aims to enhance the skills and capacity of police personnel for the 
smooth execution of election duties.

RMP Commissioner Muhammad Abu Sufian and Deputy Inspector General of Police 
Dr Muhammad Shahjahan were present on the occasion. 

IGP Baharul Alam emphasized the need for maintaining professionalism, 
integrity, and efficiency at all levels of the police force, which is vital 
for conducting a free, fair, and neutral national election.

He urged all police officers to perform their responsibilities with honesty, 
accountability, and respect for the law. 

Baharul Alam said the training would strengthen officers' practical knowledge 
and operational capacity in handling election-related tasks, expressing hope 
it would contribute to maintaining law and order and ensuring efficient 
management at polling centers.
