DHAKA, Nov 2, 2025 (BSS) - Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser on Posts,
Telecommunications and Information Technology, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, has called
on startups to take full advantage of the modern Free Co-Working Space
facilities to accelerate innovation and entrepreneurship in Bangladesh.
"Following the implementation of the new co-working space policy, the iDEA
project has gained strong momentum," Taiyeb said, emphasizing the
government's commitment to empowering young entrepreneurs.
Under the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Academy (iDEA) project,
run by the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division, a new
initiative has been launched to strengthen the management and effectiveness
of co-working spaces nationwide.
Taiyeb directed officials to revoke allocations from irregular startups and
ensure fair and transparent opportunities for promising new ventures to
utilize the state-of-the-art facilities.
So far, the special committee has held six meetings, allocating 33 out of 51
desks, with the application process for the remaining 18 desks currently
ongoing. New allocations will be made swiftly after evaluation.
Located in Agargaon, Dhaka, the co-working space offers startups six months
of free office facilities, high-speed internet, meeting and conference rooms,
corporate networking opportunities, and access to the Idea Lab.
The entire application and allocation process is conducted online via
idea.gov.bd
Eligible applicants must submit a trade license or BIN, TIN certificate,
founder's NID or passport, and any relevant agreements. Only ICT-based
innovative startups are eligible to apply.
The iDEA Project offers free co-working space facilities for startups and
entrepreneurs. This modern and well-equipped space provides an innovative
environment to help startups to grow and collaborate.
