EC decides to register three political parties including NCP

DHAKA, Nov 04, 2025 (BSS) – The Election Commission (EC) has decided to register three political parties, including the National Citizens Party (NCP), as all three met the commission’s required conditions.

The other two parties are Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (Marxist) and Bangladesh Aam Janagan Party (BAJP), EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed told reporters at the Election Bhaban in the city’s Agargaon.

Akhtar Ahmed said, “The commission believes that these three parties are eligible for registration. We will issue a notification in the press tomorrow. A deadline for objections has been set for November 12.”

“A final decision will be made after reviewing the information available within the specified time, and the registration certificates will be issued once objections are settled.”

A total of 143 parties applied for EC registration within the stipulated time. After the initial scrutiny, the commission sent field investigation teams to 22 parties. Based on the investigation reports, the EC decided to grant registration to the NCP, Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (Marxist), and Bangladesh Aam Janagan Party.
