DMP bans gatherings around Bangladesh Secretariat, Jamuna from tomorrow

DHAKA, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all forms of public gatherings in key areas of the capital including Bangladesh Secretariat and Jamuna, the official residence of the Chief Adviser from tomorrow, citing concerns over public order and security of the Chief Adviser.

All kinds of meetings, assemblies, processions, human chains, sit-ins, and similar activities are strictly prohibited in and around Bangladesh Secretariat and the Chief Adviser's official residence, Jamuna.

The restricted zone includes the areas between the Hotel InterContinental Crossing, Kakrail Mosque Crossing, Officers Club Crossing, and Mintu Road Crossing.

The order will take effect from tomorrow (November 6) 2025, and will remain in force until further notice. 

DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali today issued an official notification in this connection under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76). 

The DMP Commissioner has urged the public to cooperate with the restrictions to maintain peace and security in the designated areas.
