ICT-1 orders removal of derogatory content on tribunal, judges

DHAKA, Nov 23, 2025 (BSS) - The International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT-1) today directed the concerned authorities to remove all "contemptuous" comments, statements, and manipulated photographs related to the tribunal and its judges from media and social media platforms.
 
The two-member tribunal, headed by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, passed the suo moto order, instructing the Information Secretary and the Chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to ensure compliance.
 
The court also directed a report on the action taken to be submitted by December 3.
 
"Everyone is allowed to express independent thought and enjoy freedom of speech, but such freedom must be exercised within the laws of the country and without causing any disrespect," the tribunal said while issuing the order.
