IGP leaves for Morocco to attend INTERPOL general assembly

DHAKA, Nov 23, 2025 (BSS) - Inspector General of Police (IGP)of Bangladesh Baharul Alam today left Dhaka for Morocco to attend the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly in Marrakesh there. 

The four-day conference, scheduled to be held from November 24 to 27, will bring together high-level representatives from 196 member countries.

The IGP is leading a three-member Bangladesh delegation and is expected to join policy discussions on counter-terrorism, cybercrime, human trafficking, organized and transnational crime, and police capacity building, said a press release of the Police Headquarters. 

He will also hold bilateral meetings with police chiefs from various countries to enhance cooperation in information sharing, joint operations, and capacity development.

Bangladesh's participation is anticipated to bolster its global image and strengthen multilateral partnerships. 

The IGP is scheduled to return home on November 30.
