RANGPUR, Nov 30, 2025 (BSS) - The BRUR Students Council, a student organisation of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR), organised an exceptional running competition in Rangpur today.
After completing registrations, as many as 1,500 competitor students participated in the biggest running competition of recent times titled 'Run with BRUR Students Council' with the theme "Let's walk together. Let's build the country together."
On Sunday morning, the running competition was inaugurated at Shaheed Abu Sayeed Square in front of the university by BRUR Students' Council President Md Ahmadul Haque Alveer.
The race, which started from Shaheed Abu Sayeed Square and ended at Shapla Square in Rangpur city, turned the entire metropolis into a festive place during winter.
In his inaugural speech, President Ahmadul Haque Alveer said, 'Today's event is not just a race, but a call for the young society to build a new Bangladesh by building a healthy body and mind.
"Keeping in mind the theme "Let's walk together, build together", we want to give a message to the young generation- we must be active for the welfare of individuals and the country."
The participation of 1500 competitors through registration proves that the young generation is positive and vibrant.
Ahmadul Haque Alveer further said, "I am grateful to those who participated through registration. We want this event to be bigger every year, and more young people to join.'
Towfique Hasan Tariq, a student who participated in the competition, said, 'It is really exciting to run in such a big competition. Amid the pressure of studies, such an event energizes us physically and mentally.
"The arrangements of the BRUR Students Council are truly extraordinary and amazingly interesting,' he said.
Another participating student, Md Taleb Islam, said, 'Such an event is definitely praiseworthy. Such a running competition will have a positive impact on building a healthy body and a beautiful mind."
Another participating student Abu Raihan said, "I am very happy as a competitor. I want such a competition to be held every year. This is not just a race; it is a new example of building a healthy and vibrant future for the youth and the country as well."
Every participant in the race was provided with a T-shirt, breakfast and the first 80 students were given medals at the end of the event.
