
DHAKA, Dec 6, 2025 (BSS) - The traffic division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed a total of 3,212 cases over the past two days during an extensive operation targeting the traffic law violations across the capital.
According to DMP traffic sources, cases were recorded across all major traffic divisions: traffic under Motijheel Division filed 403 cases against 23 buses, 3 trucks, and 31 covered vans, 61 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) run auto rickshaw, and 189 motorcycles.
Alongside filing cases, the authorities dumped 680 vehicles and wrecked 314 others during the operation.
Officials stated that the crackdown, conducted on Thursday and Friday is part of the DMP Traffic Division’s ongoing effort to enforce traffic discipline across Dhaka.
The operation will continue in the coming days, they added.
Traffic of Wari Division filed 434 cases against 39 buses, 50 trucks, 40 covered vans, 60 CNGs, and 178 motorcycles while traffic of Tejgaon Division lodged 308 cases — including 18 buses, 6 trucks, 24 covered vans, 48 CNGs, and 160 motorcycles.
However, traffic of Mirpur Division registered 499 cases against 32 buses, 20 trucks, 24 covered vans, 71 CNGs, and 290 motorcycles and traffic of Gulshan Division registered 635 cases against 28 buses, 9 trucks, 22 covered vans, 54 CNGs, and 319 motorcycles.
Traffic of Uttara Division filed 529 cases against 48 buses, 4 trucks, 26 covered vans, 101 CNGs, and 162 motorcycles while traffic of Ramna Division lodged 177 cases against 9 buses, one truck, 8 covered vans, 16 CNGs, and 73 motorcycles.
Traffic of Lalbagh Division registered 227 cases against 20 buses, 5 trucks, 3 covered vans, 25 CNGs, and 138 motorcycles.
