
DHAKA, Dec 4, 2025 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today said it reshuffled the postings and assignments of the deputy commissioners (DCs) within its purview in the capital amid nationwide rearrangements in bureaucracy including police administration ahead of planned February election.
A DMP statement said 13 of its deputy commissioners would interchange their postings the order would come to effect immediately until further directive.
Talking to BSS, DMP spokesman and deputy commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman said the major reshuffle in DC level police officers was aimed at ensuring neutrality, proper execution of duties and a stabilizing possible law and order situations during the general election.
DMP currently have 59 deputy commissioner level officers with oversight duties at its different divisions, units and headquarters.
According to the DMP notification, DC of City Research and Development Division AFM Anwar Hossain Khan has been transferred to Public Order Management West Division, DC of Mirpur Division Mohammad Maksuder Rahman to Protection Division, Dc of Motijheel Division Md Shahriar Ali to Uttara Division, DC of City Cyber Crime and Investigation Division Mohammad Salahuddin Sikdar to Detective Branch (DB), Motijheel Division, DC of Intelligence-Cyber and Special Crime Division-North Division Hasan Mohammad Naser Rikabdar to Intelligence-Cyber and Special Crime Division-South Division (Additional Charge), DC of Intelligence-Cyber and Special Crime Division-South Division Mohiuddin Mahmood Sohel to DB Mirpur Division, DC of Protection Division Moinul Haq to Mirpur Division, DC of Welfare and Forces Division Rownak Alam to Gulshan Division, DC of DB, Ramna Md Amir Khasru to DMP headquarters, DC of Public Order Management West Division Mohammad Sanowar Hossain to Traffic Mirpur Division, DC of Wari Mohammad Harun or Rashid to Motijheel Division, DC of Lalbagh Mollik Ahsan Uddin Sami to Wari Division and DC of Gulshan Md Tarek Mahmood to Lalbagh Division.
Earlier, the interim government appointed deputy commissioners (DCs) or administrative chiefs, superintendents of police (SPs) in 64 districts and 527 officers-in-Charge (OCs) through the newly introduced lottery system across the country, a home ministry official said.
