DHAKA, Dec 11, 2025 (BSS) – The Election Commission (EC) has asked the public administration ministry to engage at least two executive magistrates at the upazila level immediately after announcement of polls schedule, the commission officials said here today.

“The commission asked the senior secretary of the public administration ministry to take steps for engagement of two executive magistrates in each upazila/police station to ensure compliance of the electoral code of conduct,” an EC official said.

He said the executive magistrates would stay in their areas of makeshift election duties until two days after the voting and stage mobile court trials in cases of breach of the code under the Mobile Court Act, 2009.
