People of Bangladesh want an end to border killings: Adilur

DHAKA, Dec 16, 2025 (BSS)- Adviser of LGRD and Cooperatives and Housing and Public Works Adilur Rahman Khan today said the people of Bangladesh want an end to border killings. 

He made the remarks at the unveiling ceremony of the nameplate of ‘Felani Avenue’, naming the road from Gulshan-2 roundabout to Pragati Sarani in memory of Felani, the teenage girl killed by BSF gunfire at the border. 

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) organized the event at the Gulshan-2 roundabout, said a press release.

“Our sister Felani lost her life while hanging from barbed wire. This road has been named after her to remind us every day of the brutality inflicted upon her,” he said.

The adviser said a most heinous situation like border killings continues along Bangladesh border, a reality the country is placing before the conscience of the world. 

He said the current government is working to stop border killings, and as part of that effort, the road was inaugurated in Felani’s name on this great Victory Day.

Local Government Division Secretary Md. Rezaul Maksud Jahedi, Public Works Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam?, Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) Chairman Engr Md. Reazul Islam, and DNCC Administrator Mohammad Azaz, along with other DNCC officials, were present.
