CJ inaugurates newly-renovated ICT-2 courtroom

DHAKA, Dec 17, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Justice (CJ) Syed Refaat Ahmed inaugurated 
the newly-renovated courtroom of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 at 
3:00 pm today.

On the occasion, ICT-1 Chairman Justice Golam Mortuza Mozumder, ICT-2 
Chairman Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, other members of both tribunals, 
Supreme Court Registrar General Mohammad Habibur Rahman Siddiquee, Chief 
Prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam, and other prosecutors, among others, were 
present.

The ICT-2 was constituted on May 8, 2025, with Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury 
of the High Court Division as its chairman, while retired District and 
Sessions Judge Md Manjurul Basid and District and Sessions Judge Nur Mohammad 
Shahriar Kabir were appointed as members.

The tribunal began its activities at a makeshift courtroom, where the three 
judges were accorded a reception on June 17.

Earlier on January 7, 2025, Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed inaugurated the 
renovated main building and courtroom of the ICT-1.
