DHAKA, Dec 17, 2025 (BSS) - Eighteen student organisations, including Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir (BICS), today said the fallen fascist forces accused of genocide have launched a planned operation of targeted killings aimed at the leadership of the 2024 July Mass Uprising.
In a joint statement issued today, the student bodies strongly condemned and protested the attack on Inquilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, while placing six-point demands, including exemplary punishment of those involved in the attack.
They said Bangladesh is currently facing multidimensional conspiracies and anti-independence, anti-sovereignty activities. They described Sharif Osman Bin Hadi as a vocal and uncompromising voice against these conspiracies.
Student leaders alleged that the ousted fascist Awami League and its allies attempted to assassinate him as part of a blueprint to divide national politics and rehabilitate themselves, targeting an uncompromising July fighter who speaks out against Indian hegemony.
The statement said the planned attempt on the life of July fighter Osman Bin Hadi proves that the terrorist activities of the fallen fascist forces are still active.
It further alleged that ousted fascist leader Sheikh Hasina, currently staying in India, and her associates have made the frontline leaders of the July Mass Uprising their targets.
Silencing voices that speak out boldly against Mujibism, fascism, hegemony and cultural degradation is the core objective of this conspiracy, the statement added.
The leaders said unequivocally that the attack was not an isolated act of terrorism but a well-organised operation aimed at destroying the aspirations and leadership of the July Mass Uprising and politically rehabilitating the fallen fascist forces.
The incident, they said, demonstrates that genocidal fascist forces remain active in India and are regrouping with support from the country.
Expressing deep concern, they said that despite five days having passed since the attempted murder, there has been no visible or effective progress by the government in arresting those involved.
At the same time, they alleged that many killers and criminals Awami League, despite clear allegations and evidence of direct involvement in mass killings during the July uprising, are being released on bail and are spreading fear nationwide through killings, arson and covert attacks.
The statement further alleged that certain individuals and groups are still attempting, through talk shows, columns and sections of the media, to create sympathy-directly or indirectly-for the genocidal Awami League.
Such efforts, the organisations said, amount to a direct stand against the spirit of the July Mass Uprising and a betrayal of the blood of the martyrs. They demanded the immediate identification and legal action against journalists allegedly carrying hidden fascist agendas within the media.
Among the six demands are: immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of all terrorists involved in the attack on Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, ensuring the highest level of state security for the leaders of the July Mass Uprising, bringing back to the country and putting on trial all accused criminals, including Sheikh Hasina, confiscation of the assets of businesspersons linked to the financial sources of fascist forces; swift legal action against individuals implementing fascist agendas hidden within the administration, state security agencies and the media; and conducting nationwide combing operations to recover all illegal weapons and ensure full security of public life.
The statement was signed by leaders of the 18 student organisations, including Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, Islami Chhatra Andolon Bangladesh, JAGPA Chhatra League, Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Majlis, Jatiya Chhatra Samaj (Kazi Zafar), Bangladesh Khilafat Chhatra Majlis, Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Samaj, Bangladesh Chhatra Mission, Chhatra Jamiat Bangladesh, Democratic Chhatra Dal (LDP), Bangladesh Khilafat Chhatra Andolon, Bhashani Chhatra Parishad, Nagorik Chhatra Oikya, Bangladesh Chhatrapakkha, Bangladesh Muslim Chhatra Federation, Islami Chhatra Forum Bangladesh, Rashtra Songskar Chhatra Andolon and National Chhatra Mission.
