Special prayers held for AK Khandker

DHAKA, Dec 24, 2025 (BSS) - A special prayers was held today seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of late freedom fighter and former Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Abdul Karim Khandker, Bir Uttam.

The doa mahfil was held after Asr prayers at Falcon Hall of Air Force Base Bashar here, according to a release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate this evening.

Family members of the late Air Vice Marshal AK Khandker, senior Bangladesh Air Force officers and other rank-and-file personnel attended the prayer event.

Late Air Vice Marshal AK Khandker was a heroic freedom fighter and a visionary leader who played a crucial role in the formation of the Bangladesh Air Force.

His unwavering dedication, strategic acumen and indomitable spirit during the 1971 Liberation War continue to inspire the nation. As Deputy Chief of Staff of the Mukti Bahini, he played a significant role in coordinating the liberation forces, contributing to the country's victory, the ISPR added.
