MANIKGANJ, Jan 5, 2026 (BSS) - Ferry movement on the Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed after more than six hours of suspension due to heavy fog that reduced visibility to a dangerous level.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Deputy General Manager (DGM) Abdus Salam said ferry operations resumed at 7:00 am today as the dense fog began to ease.

Earlier, ferry services were suspended from midnight on Sunday to avoid accidents as thick fog blanketed the riverbed, he added.

At present, all ferries on the route are operating normally, carrying vehicles.

However, ferry movement on the Aricha-Kazirhat route has not yet resumed due to persistent dense fog.
