
MEHERPUR, Jan 14, 2026 (BSS) - The District Education Office has published
the list of best educational institutions, teachers and students selected at
the district level on the occasion of National Education Week 2026.
Acting District Education Officer Abdur Rahim said the selection was made
across school, technical, madrasa and college levels in recognition of
outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements.
At the school level, Abir Roshan Labib, a class 10 student of Sandhani School
and College, was selected as the best student while Farzana Akhter Snigdha of
Muktijoddha Ahmed Ali Technical and Business Management College received the
honour in technical education.
At the madrasa level, Maisha Siddika of Govipur Dakhil Madrasa was selected,
while Afia Ibnat, a class 12 student of Sandhani School and College was
recognised at the college level.
Among teachers, Dilara Afroz, assistant teacher of Banshbaria Secondary
School, was named best teacher at the secondary level while SM Rafiqul Alam
of Muktijoddha Ahmed Ali Technical and Business Management College was
selected at the technical level, Shukur Ali of Govipur Madrasa at the madrasa
level and Dr Sanjay Bolay, assistant professor of the Economics Department of
Meherpur Government College at the college level.
The best institution heads were also announced. Hasan Al Noorani, head
teacher of Jorpukuria Secondary School, was selected at the school level,
Shahi Ali, principal of Muktijoddha Ahmed Ali Technical and Business
Management College, at the technical level, Abdul Wadud of Shibpur Darul
Quran Dakhil Madrasa, at the madrasa level and Professor AKM Dr Nazrul Kabir,
principal of Meherpur Government College, at the college level.
In the institutional category, Jorpukuria Secondary School was selected as
the best school, Gangni Technical and BM College as the best technical
institution, Harabhanga DH Fazil Madrasa as the best madrasa, and Sandhani
School and College announced as the best college of the district.
In scouting and youth activities, Junaid Ahmed of Sandhani School and College
was selected as the best scout for his contribution to Scout, Rover and BNCC
activities. Anik Hasan of Meherpur Government College was named best rover,
while Amir Hamza of the same college was selected as the best BNCC cadet.
Jorpukuria Secondary School was chosen as the best scout group and the best
Girl Guides group.
Additionally, Alamgir Hossain, a teacher of Meherpur Government College, was
selected as the best rover teacher while Sukher Chandra Biswas of Sandhani
School and College was named best scout teacher and Shahnaz Sultana of
Mujibnagar Government Secondary School was selected as the best Girl Guide
teacher.
The awardees will be formally honoured during National Education Week
programmes in the district.
