DHAKA, Jan 14, 2026 (BSS) – The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 today allowed a defence plea to visit the Taskforce for Interrogation (TFI) cell of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a case filed over enforced disappearances and torture during the previous Awami League government.

The three-member tribunal, headed by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumder, passed the order allowing the plea moved by Advocate Tabarak Hossain.

“The prosecution has mentioned RAB’s TFI cell as the place of occurrence of the alleged offences in the formal charge. Therefore, we sought permission to visit the site, which the tribunal has granted,” the defence counsel told journalists.

Meanwhile, Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim said the tribunal allowed the defence plea with the condition that the prosecution must be informed prior to the visit. He added that the prosecution may remain present at the site if it so wishes.
