RAJSHAHI, Jan 22, 2026 (BSS) - The first-year undergraduate admission test for the 2025-2026 academic session at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) was held today in a very orderly and peaceful manner.
 
According to the RUET sources, a total of 15,567 candidates participated in the admission test against 1,235 seats in 14 departments.

For the convenience of examinees and their guardians, the examination was conducted not only at RUET but, for the first time, also at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
 
The "Group A" admission test at various buildings of RUET and BUET began at 9:30 a.m. and ended at 12:00 noon. In addition, the "Group B" admission test at RUET started at 9:30 a.m. and concluded at 1:15 p.m.
 
A total of 18,277 students were nominated to sit for the admission test-8,477 at RUET and 9,800 at BUET.

Among them, 15,567 candidates appeared in today's examinations at RUET and BUET, including 6,878 at RUET and 8,689 at BUET. 

Attendance was approximately 81.14% at RUET and 88.66% at BUET, with an overall attendance of around 85% across both centers.
 
On the day, Vice-Chancellor Professor SM Abdur Razzak, along with distinguished faculty members and senior university officials, visited the examination halls.

Members of law enforcement agencies, Ansar personnel, and volunteers were deployed on campus to ensure security and order during the examinations.
 
From early morning, the RUET campus became lively with the presence of admission candidates and their guardians. No untoward incidents occurred during the examination period.

As the admission test was completed smoothly and peacefully, Vice-Chancellor Prof Abdur Razzak expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to all teachers, officers, staff, volunteers, officials of the local administration, and all others concerned.
 
The tentative date for publishing the results and the list of selected and waiting candidates for final admission is 6 February.
