DHAKA, Feb 3, 2026 (BSS) - Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministry Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb today called upon the newly appointed office support staff to devote themselves to public service with utmost sincerity.

He made the call while speaking as the chief guest at the orientation programme for the newly appointed office support staff  of the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DoICT) at the National Science and Technology Complex in the capital’s Agargaon.

Taiyeb said the primary responsibility of the newly appointed employees is to deliver digital services to people at their doorsteps.

He said the recruitment was completed through a completely transparent and corruption-free process from among nearly 97,000 candidates, setting an example of a credible recruitment system.

The chief adviser’s special assistant said at the upazila level, DoICT offices represent the government’s digital transformation to local people. 

Therefore, newly appointed staff must play a sincere and responsible role in providing online services, registrations, information technology support, and cyber security assistance to citizens, he said. 

Taiyeb said necessary infrastructure, including lab facilities, programmers, and assistant programmers, has already been established at upazila offices.

He said coordination with other government offices at the field level, providing IT support, and assisting local entrepreneurs and citizen service activities are important responsibilities of the ICT Division.

He urged officials to take the initiative to enhance their IT skills and undergo training so that they can further improve the quality of digital services.

While presiding over the programme, ICT Division Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury said the government’s development activities in the information and communication technology sector would gain more momentum through the formation of a skilled, honest, and responsible workforce. 

He called upon the newly recruited persons to perform their duties with professionalism and sincerity.

Director General of the Department of Information and Communication Technology Md. Abu Sayed highlighted the importance of honesty and efficiency in implementing the department’s work plans and carrying out responsibilities.

Recently 497 office assistants were appointed to the DoICT.
