Chief Justice pays homage to language martyrs

DHAKA, Feb 21, 2026 (BSS) - Chief Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury today paid rich tributes to the Language Martyrs by placing a wreath at the Central Shaheed Minar marking the great Martyrs' Day and the International Mother Language Day.

According to a press release signed by Supreme Court Public Relations Officer Md Shafiqul Islam, the Chief Justice, accompanied by the judges of the Appellate Division and the High Court Division of the Supreme Court, laid the wreath at 6:00 am.

After placing the wreath, they stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the martyrs of the Language Movement.

On the occasion, the invaluable contributions of the Language Martyrs were remembered with due honour and reverence.
