KHULNA, Feb 21, 2026 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) arrested a suspected robber and recovered stolen cash and valuables from the Shakhipur area under Debhata Upazila early today. 

The arrestee is identified as Rezaul Gazi, 45, son of late Barkat Ullah Gazi of Krishnanagar village under Kaliganj Upazila of the district, according to a RAB press release. 

The release added that acting on a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-6 under Crime Prevention Company-1 conducted a special drive in the area and arrested Rezaul Gazi. 

During the operation, one motorcycle, gold ornaments including bangles, earrings and bracelets, silver ornaments, five mobile phones, Tk 2,05,000 in cash, 110 Maldivian Rufiyaa and 250 Indian Rupees were recovered. 

RAB said the arrestee is a top listed robber of the district. He has as many as 19 cases filed against him with different police stations of Satkhira district, as well as in Khulna and Jashore districts, on charges of theft, robbery, narcotics, and attempt to murder. 

The arrestee was later handed over to Satkhira Sadar Police Station for further legal action, the press release added.
